He urged governments across the West African region to adopt advanced technologies to enhance border security and address these challenges effectively.

“West Africa border security is of great importance to us at KGGEvents; security around our borders is important to boost trade and tourism.

“We call on government across the West Africa region to take the issue of security more seriously.

“A lot can be done, new technologies can be adopted to improve on security,” he said.

Malvin Kane, Director of KGGEvents, has announced plans to host the 2025 edition of the West Africa Border Security Week Conference and Exhibition in Accra, Ghana, from August 5 to August 6.

Kane stated that the event aims to bring together stakeholders from across the region to explore innovative solutions and strategies for improving border security.

The conference, themed “Securing West Africa’s Borders: Innovation, Collaboration, and Resilience for Sustainable Growth,” will address critical issues such as cross-border trade, migration, and transnational security threats.

“With increasing cross-border trade, migration, and evolving security challenges, it is essential to secure borders while ensuring the smooth movement of goods and people. This is vital for West Africa’s stability and economic progress,” Kane emphasized.

“The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) has increased the need for harmonised border procedures, seamless travel, and security cooperation among nations.

“The West Africa Border Security Week 2025 will provide a platform to address these issues by fostering dialogue, sharing expertise, and showcasing the latest technologies in border security.”

According to Kane, the event will bring together government agencies, border control authorities, security experts, and technology providers to explore innovative solutions aimed at improving border operations and fostering regional integration.

Mr. Olugbenga Adebayo, CEO of Gadeshire Consulting Ltd. and Country Representative for KGGEvents, stated that the conference also seeks to strengthen regional collaboration and showcase advanced technologies.

Adebayo noted that the programme will tackle key issues and emerging trends, promote capacity building, and serve as a platform for knowledge exchange among stakeholders.

“The two-day conference is expected to feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, and presentations by leading experts and practitioners in border security.

“The exhibition pavilion will showcase the latest border security technologies and solutions by leading technology brands,” he said.
