First Lady of Ebonyi State Urges Women to Pursue Their Dreams

The first lady and wife of the governor of Ebonyi State, Mrs. Mary-Maudlin Nwifuru, has called on Nigerian women to continue pursuing their dreams, aspirations and ambitions with unwavering determination.
She gave the charge at the Hilton Istanbul Bomonti, Turkey, during the opening ceremony of the 4-day study tour on leadership etiquette and sustainable development for women, organized by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation in collaboration with Prime Unique Women Initiative (PUWI) for spouses of top government officials.
The 4-day study tour has the theme ‘Leadership Etiquette for Nation-building’.
During the opening ceremony, Mrs. Uzoamaka Nwifuru commended the contributions and support of the leadership of Nigeria.
“I bring you warm greetings and felicitations from Nigeria, and particularly from the finest people of Ebonyi State, on this remarkable occasion of the opening ceremony here in Istanbul, Turkey.
“I am greatly delighted to be here and even more humbled by this rare opportunity to rub minds with you.
“I always love to acknowledge our strength, resilience, and determination in life. These inspirational values in us contribute largely in shaping our families, communities and the societies we live in,” she said.
Mrs Nwifuru acknowledged the outstanding performances of women in various leadership assignments, which have been instrumental in driving progress and development.
She encouraged them to continue to demonstrate remarkable courage and strength in the face of challenges and obstacles:
“In the face of challenges and obstacles, continue to demonstrate remarkable courage and strength. Our voices have been instrumental in advocating for gender equality, women’s rights, and social justice”.

The event, which is currently ongoing in Istanbul, Turkey, started on 20th November, 2023 and will end on 23rd November, 2023.

Other delegates from Ebonyi State include the Secretary to the Ebonyi State Government, Prof. Grace Umezurike; the State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Barr Mrs. Felicia Nwankpuma; and the Special Adviser to the First Lady, Mrs. Jessica Chinedu Uburu.
