In partnership with Google, the Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology (FMIST) has launched a platform designed to equip Nigerian businesses with essential skills and tools to enhance their competitiveness, scalability, and contribution to the nation’s economic prosperity.

Recognising that technology is a key driver of growth, the programme aims to provide Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) with the knowledge, digital tools, and strategies necessary to navigate and lead in a rapidly evolving global economy.

This initiative is particularly significant, given that SMEs account for nearly 48% of Nigeria’s GDP and employ approximately 80% of the workforce.

The Ministry remains committed to fostering an environment where innovation thrives, in alignment with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. This vision ensures that technology and innovation serve as the foundation for Nigeria’s economic transformation, addressing critical challenges across sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, infrastructure, and industrialisation.

The collaboration with Google exemplifies the power of public-private partnerships in driving sustainable development. This initiative is set to equip Nigerian businesses with the necessary tools, skills, and strategies to compete, scale, and thrive in an ever-evolving digital landscape.
