Former Special Advisers Forum in Sokoto State has reaffirmed their commitment and support for All Progressive Congress, APC under the leadership of former Governor of the state Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.
Chairman of the Forum, Abdullahi Ahmad, made the reaffirmation while briefing Journalists in Sokoto State North West Nigeria.
According to him, over 93 percent of the forum members are still united and solidly behind All Progressive Congress and would continue to give their support to the party.
” You may recall that small clique from among our colleagues have deserted the group and and return dishonourably to People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
” our hope was that because we have respected their right to choose to act dishonourably, they will also respect the will of the majority to maintain our dignity and honor.
” It is laughable that out of a membership of over 180 members, only 13 members claim to represent the majority.
” therefore, we the majority members of the forum are solidly behind the All Progressive Congress under the leadership of Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko,” Ahmad stated.
He noted that “the current administration of People’s Democratic Party has failed to meet the demands of people in the state, despite huge amounts of debts secured by government”.
Ahmad lamented that the present administration had neglected Civil Service, Business Community, provision of required security of lives and property in the state.
” in view of the failure of present administration we have unanimously agreed to further distance ourselves from the unjust and bad leadership of PDP in Sokoto State.
“we wish to align ourselves with All Progressive Congress, APC with Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko as its leader and Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto as Gubernatorial Candidate ready to pilot affairs of Sokoto State come May 29th this year,” he added.
The Forum Chairman further thanked the leadership of the party for their teamwork towards uplifting the party ahead of PDP.
He commended Members of National and State Assemblies under the APC for their support to the party, especially Hon. Abdullahi Kalambaina member representing Kware-Wamakko Federal Constituency who embarked on massive distribution of motorcycles, water pumping machines, fertilizer and cash as dividends of democracy.
He called on all party supporters to continue to resist all forms of pressure, threat and intimidation from the opposition.
The Chairman Abdullahi Ahmad also urged party members to continue to massively mobalise for the party and elect all candidates of APC in the forthcoming elections for better and good governance.
