The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Anambra State Command, has launched a new initiative to improve the quality of certified driving schools and enhance transparency in the driver’s licence acquisition process.

The effort, led by Sector Commander Joyce Alexander, was announced in a statement by the Sector Public Education Officer, Margaret Onabe. It involves the production and public display of banners listing all FRSC-certified driving schools in Anambra State, in collaboration with the Driving School Proprietors Association of Anambra State.

Onabe said the banners would be strategically placed at all driver’s licence centres across the state to inform the public and guide prospective drivers.

The banners, which feature the names of all FRSC-certified driving schools, will be prominently displayed at all driver’s licence centres in the state, she said.

The campaign aims to:

  • Educate the public on FRSC-recognised driving schools.

  • Discourage patronage of unregistered or substandard schools.

  • Enhance compliance with the Driving School Standardisation Programme (DSSP).

  • Curb the circulation of fake or compromised training certificates.

  • Promote professionalism and accountability within the driving school sector.

The initiative forms part of a broader FRSC strategy to uphold the integrity of the National Driver’s Licence Scheme and advance national road safety goals.

Onabe expressed confidence that the campaign would help reduce road traffic crashes and promote safer roads in Anambra State.
