At the close of Wednesday’s trade, the equities market closed higher by 0.12% to close at 51,657.56 points.
Consequently, the market capitalisation rose by N34 billion to close at N28,136 trillion compared with N28,102 trillion on Tuesday.
Wednesday’s trading saw a total of 265.72 million shares with market value of N13.52 billion traded in 4,156 deals with Market sentiment closing positive with 21 gainers and 12 losers.
Nigerian Breweries led the gainers with 10% price gain to close at N45.10 and was followed by Nigerian Aviation Handling Company also with 10% price gain and a closing price of N7.70k then LivingTrust Mortgage Bank also gained 10% to close at N1.76k per share.
Conversely, Champion Breweries lost 10% to close at N4.95k. It was followed by Unity Bank with 6.78% loss and a closing price of N0.55k then United Bank for Africa lost 3.61% to close at N8.00k.
BUA Cement recorded the highest volume of 102 million traded shares, followed by Transcorp Nigeria with 32.8 million shares and Access Holdings with 23 million shares.
