Nigeria’s senior men’s handball team, the Golden Arrows, are set for the 2026 Africa Handball Nations Championship, scheduled to hold in Kigali, Rwanda.
The Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN), confirmed the development in a statement by its Media Coordinator, Cosmos Chukwuemeka. Hesaid the team departed Nigeria early Tuesday via the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

“The championship will hold from January 21 to Jan. 31,” he said.
The delegation was led by HFN President Jibril Saidu Ojih, FNSQ, alongside other federation officials.
They are expected to arrive by noon, with Coach Rafiu Salami’s side facing Algeria on Wednesday at 1 p.m.
The biennial tournament is dominated by North African teams, with Egypt defending nine titles and Tunisia holding a record ten.
