Golden Eaglets Coach promises improved game in make or mar match
Coach Fatai Amoo has promised the Golden Eaglets will be a lot more improved when they battle arch-rivals Ghana in a must-win final U17 AFCON qualifiers Group B clash Saturday.
The Eaglets fell 1-0 to Cote d’Ivoire Wednesday and will now need to win at the weekend to stay alive in the tournament.
“They can do better (than they did vs Cote d’Ivoire),” .
“We have taken note of the mistakes and we will make the necessary corrections.”
The coach admitted his boys suffered a stage fright on Wednesday.
“It was a difficult game for the boys, many of them have not had this type of opportunity and as a result they were a bit jittery,”
“We also played against a more formidable team given the preparations.”
Saturday’s showdown will be a grudge fight after the Eaglets stopped their Ghanaian counterparts with a late goal two years ago in Niamey, Niger.
