The Chairman of Shongom local government area of Gombe State Mr. Yohanna Nahari has commended the Gombe state Governor Inuwa Yahaya for executing developmental projects in Shongom local government area especially in the area education, security and health care services.
Mr. Nahari who spoke in a telephone interview with Voice of Nigeria, noted that the people of Shongom local government area in Gombe state have enjoyed more developmental projects under the present Government than the past leadership.
“I want to sincerely thank the governor of Gombe state for approving the upgrade of Filiya hospital to a more standard hospital and for renovating the health-care centres in most of the Communities in Pero Chonge and I also appreciate the state Government for the construction 8 class rooms block in Filiya primary school and the renovation of most of the dilapidated class rooms in various schools across the Communities which has before now posed a great challenge to our students learning condition.“
He noted that the Gombe state Government has also approved the construction of road from Filiya Community to Gundali all in Shongom local government area.
” As part of the 11-100 road project of the governor Inuwa Yahaya administration which is aimed as constructing 100 kilometers of road in all the 11 Local Government area in the state, the governor has approved the construction of the Filiya-Gundali road and the project will soon commence, when this project is constructed it will be the first of its kind since the creation of the Shongom local government area,“ he stated.
” When I came on board as the Council Chairman there were alot of communal clashes among the Communities but we engaged these Communities in town hall meetings with the help of the state government and Action Aid, most of the aggrieved persons were asked to speak out their grievance and solution where proffered and now we have relative peace in this Communities thanks to the intervention of the state government,“ he stated.
He called on the people of the Communities in Shongom to support the state government to promote peace.
