Government calls on Ekiti Indigenes to key Into Economic Recovery Programmes

The Nigerian Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr Adeniyi Adebayo has called on indigenes of Ekiti State, South West Nigeria to participate in the Federal Government economic recovery and stimulus programme for their own benefits.

Mr Adebayo made the call during the distribution of food stuffs, including rice and other items for the people at the grassroot in the state.

The Minister listed the economic stimulus programme to include N15 billion Guaranteed Offtake Scheme, N50 billion MSME Survival Fund and N10 billion MSME Survival Fund  for Transport workers.

According to him “the programmes were put in place for the good of Nigerians and devoid of partisan or religious sentiments as all Nigerians are expected participate for the economic wellbeing of the country.”

Economic well-being
Mr Adebayo called on citizens in the state to take advantage of the programmes to improve on their economic well-being.

He solicited the support of the people for both the state and Nigerian government, saying the state would continue to enjoy federal presence like other states of the federation.

Bank of Industry
Also, the Minister in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Ifedayo Sayo disclosed that Bank of Industry (BoI) would soon begin the construction of it’s branch in the state, that the land for the building project has been acquired and certificate of occupancy issued  to it by the state government.

“The National Automobile Design Development Council has acquired a land in the state capital, Ado-Ekiti for the building of a mechatronics training centre.

“The land for the building of the training centre has been acquired and certificate of occupancy issued,” he said.

The Minister said the two projects will start in the first quarter of the year.

He said the Standard Organisation of Nigeria, SON building has been completed in the state and ready for commissioning.

“Besides, the Industrial Training Fund is in the process of acquiring a land for it’s own building in the state,” he said.

Mr Adebayo lauded many indigenes of the state who participated in the training programme organised by Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency and urged them to put to use the knowledge acquired from the training.
