Governor AbdulRazaq congratulates Children on International Day for Girl Child

The Kwara Stare Governor and Chairman, Nigeria Governors’ Forum, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has joined leaders across the world to congratulate the girl child as the International Day of the Girl Child 2023 is being celebrated.

In a message to mark the day, the governor said as an administration, the state government is doing a lot to empower women and inspire hope in the girl child.

According to him, the state cabinet boasts the highest percentage of female commissioners in Nigeria today.

He added that to promote gender parity, his administration has enacted a law that secures at least 35% affirmative action for all government’s appointments in the state and assures that the government will continue on this trajectory

“In line with the theme of the event, ‘Invest in girls’ rights: Our leadership, our well-being’, I reaffirm our commitment to investing quality resources in the education, safety and well-being of our girls so that they can attain their full potential and compete fairly well with their male counterparts”, he assured.
