Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has officially commissioned the modern Solution Market and Solution Park in Ekwulọbịa, Aguata Local Government Area. The commissioning ceremony attracted more than 10,000 supporters and stakeholders, celebrating a milestone in the state’s ambitious urban regeneration agenda.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Soludo emphasized that the new facilities align with the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) mantra of “leave no one behind,” underscoring the administration’s commitment to inclusive development.

This new marketplace is the third state-built facility tailored to meet specific community needs,” Soludo noted.

It is designed particularly for traders and commuters displaced by the ongoing Ekwulọbịa flyover construction, which is nearing completion.”

The Solution Market and adjacent park are equipped with modern amenities aimed at boosting economic activities and improving residents’ quality of life. Features include expansive open spaces for parking, solar-powered installations, reliable water supply, canteen facilities, and dedicated leisure areas within the park. The Governor described the project as a model for what a contemporary market should embody, enabling citizens to “trade and shop in pleasure.”

Governor Soludo further framed the project within his broader vision of elevating Anambra to the stature of global cities such as Dubai and Taiwan. “To realize this, we must lay solid foundations that guarantee our people minimum pleasure,” he said, referencing the administration’s complementary policies on free education, antenatal care, and maternal health services.

The Solution Market and Park represent a collaborative effort between the state government and local authorities to ensure effective management. Those benefiting from the facility have been profiled and will receive shop allocations free of charge, reflecting the government’s focus on supporting vulnerable and displaced citizens.

Barrister Patricia Igwebuike, Commissioner for Transportation, described the accompanying bus terminal as a legacy project set to alleviate local congestion, while Chief Evarist Ubah, Special Adviser to the Governor on Markets, hailed the facility as marking the full urbanization of Ekwulọbịa.

Dr. Chibueze Offorbike, Chief Joseph Ezeokafor, President General of Ekwulọbịa Town Union Mr. Azubuike, and several market women, tricycle operators, and bus drivers expressed gratitude for the transformative initiative that has turned what was once a neglected area into a vibrant commercial hub.

The Governor’s administration continues to drive infrastructure development across Anambra, with projects such as the Ekwulọbịa Tower of Light and the forthcoming Odu Igbo project further exemplifying its commitment to community connectivity and growth.
