Governor Sule presents N109.8bn 2022 budget to Nasarawa State Assembly

Nasarawa state Governor Abdullahi Sule has presented the 2022 budget proposal of N109.801, 524,879.49 billion to the State House of Assembly for consideration and approval.

 

The Speaker of the State Assembly, Balarabe Abdullahi while receiving the budget in Lafia assured Governor Sule of a speedy passage.

 

The Governor urged the lawmakers to give the budget the much needed attention in order to ensure speedy growth of the State.

 

The Governor said that the speedy passage of the budget would enable the state government execute developmental projects across the state.

 

The governor tagged the 2022 Budget as ” Budget of Sustainable Transformation” 

 

“I hereby present the 2022 appropriation bill of N109, 801,524,879.49 billion to you for your consideration and approval.

 

“Recurrent expenditure is N70, 891, 582,458.57 representing 64.56 % while Capital expenditure stands at 38, 909, 942,420.92 representing 35.44%, 

 

“The sectorial breakdown of the budget include- Administrative sector, Government House- 8.94billion, SSG office- N9.40 billion, Legislative- N1.76 billion, pension and gratuity- N4.8 billion, Works, Housing and Transport- 14.05billion, Environment- 1.64billion, Finance- N8.98billion, Health 11.85 billion among others,” he said.

 

The Governor said that the education sector got the highest allocation with N31.83billion.

 

He assured the assembly of full implementation of the budget if finally passed into law for the overall development of the state.

 

The Governor said that his administration policy would continue to be anchored on transparency, accountability and prudence.

 

Responding, Balarabe-Abdullahi, the Speaker of the House commended the Governor for presenting the budget.

 

He has assured the Governor of speedy passage of the budget.

 

The speaker has also assured the Governor of good working relationship in order to bring the much needed dividends of democracy to the door step of the people of the state.

 

It would be recalled that on Dec.31, 2020 Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, signed the state N115.7 billion 2021 budget into law.

 

He said that the signing of the budget tagged ‘Budget of Economic Recuperation’ would enable the state to begin the constitutional 12-months Budget circle, starting from Jan.1 and ending on Dec. 31.

 

It would also be recalled  that the Governor had on Nov.17 presented 2021 budget of N112.9 billion to the State House of Assembly for approval.

 

The lawmakers however, raised the amount to N115.7 billion representing 2.48 per cent increase.
