Ismail Umar, Sokoto
Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has signed into law the Financial Autonomy bills of the state Judiciary and State House of Assembly.
Governor Tambuwal who signed the bill at the council chamber of the government house before all members of the State Assembly in Sokoto state said over a month, there had been back and prone on the issue of Financial Autonomy for Judiciary and Legislature at the state level all over the country.
“We all believe in strengthening democratic institutions, however, the back and prone had to do more with the Constitutionality other wise of order 10, which President Muhammadu Buhari was inadvertently adviced to assent.
“I have said it several times and the Chairman of the Governors Forum and individual Governors also said it several times, we have no reason to oppose the autonomy of state Judiciary and Legislature.”
“While for us in Sokoto State we have come to this level , I can assure you that no governor in Nigeria is against autonomy of Judiciary and Legislature,” he added.
