Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and his Deputy, Manir Dan’iya, have cast their votes in the Gubernatorial and State Assembly elections.
Briefing Journalists shortly after voting, the Governor commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) and security operatives for ensuring a peaceful atmosphere for the conduct of the polls.
He, however, urged INEC to swiftly deploy electronically, the results of the Gubernatorial elections in order to ensure the credibility of the election in the state.
Governor Tambuwal also called on the electorate to continue to co-operate with INEC officials and security operatives for a successful conduct of the election.
For his part, Manir Muhammad Dan’iya, the Deputy Governor in the state expressed satisfaction with the arrangements by INEC and other relevant stakeholders.
He explained that there was significant improvement in this polls compared to what was witnessed during the Presidential and National Assembly election held last month.
Dan’iya said he was confident that his party, the PDP, will win all the election in the state.
