Governor Uzodinma Sworn-In For Second Tenure

The Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma has been sworn in for a second term in office on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Speaking at the ceremony administered by the State Chief Judge, Justice Theresa Chukwuemeka- Chikeka, at the Dan Anyiam Stadium Owerri, the governor pledged that his second tenure would be defined as an uncommon tenure in the execution of policies.

Uzodinma also said his target was to make Imo State the Industrial hub of the Southeast, Nigeria and for the West Africa.

We’ve been able to lay a solid foundation for accelerated economic growth and development of our state we also addressed the decades. We met in the civil service decay we met in the education sector and the health sector. In addition, we address the lingering problem of unemployment through the variety of youth empowerment initiatives.

“We carried out a digital version of dealing with unemployment market, which included the provision of digital and other portable skills, including artificial intelligence to our teaming young men and women,” he stated.

Shared prosperity

Unfolding his priorities, Governor Uzodinma said the next four years of his administration would focus on deepening the shared prosperity mantra through massive infrastructural expansion.

The Governor said to achieve accelerated economic growth, the Imo State 2024 Budget has captured capitised expenditure with over N491billion out of the N591 appropriation act of the state.

“I have already signaled this new direction in the 2024 budget is capitalised expenditure has the share the lion’s share of 491 point 2 billion naira out of the total budget of 591.2 representing 83% for capital projects.

10years Vision

The Imo State Governor emphasised that the vision of his government was anchored on a 10 year development plan which has the capacity to transform the State into a self sufficient state in the next 10 years.

This 10 year development plan is also designed to deepen the intervention framework of my mantra of recovery, rehabilitation reconstruction.

“In the development plan, we have identified in the priority sectors, including endorsements and projects, particularly agro industries and towards food security.

“The lifespan of the development plan was deliberately made to last beyond my tenure of four years. Because I believed that government is a continuum. Let me assure you on my honor I am determined to exceed my ancestor new records.

Patriotic zeal

The Governor called on Imo residents to be demonstrate their love and patriotic zeal for the state by being law abiding and responsible citizens who would take civic obligations in the State seriously.

Governor Uzodinma who is the current Chairman South-east Governor’s Forum was sworn in alongside his Deputy, Lady Ihuoma Chinyere Ekomaru.

The Swearing in ceremony was witnessed by Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former President, Olusegun Obasanjo,Chairman All Progressives Congress Party Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje.

Also present were President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio’s, the Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas, Deputy Speaker, Benjamin Kalu, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin.
