A group known as Prince Otu Community Development Initiative says it will embark on massive voter education to all parts of Cross River State towards Governor Otu’s re-election in 2027.
The National President of the group, Mr. Kanu Joseph Uno made the disclosure at the inaugural meeting of the group in Abuja.
He said that the group alsso known as the Sweetness Renewal Network, aims to galvanise support for the Cross River State Governor, Prince Bassey Otu, come 2027.
Mr. Uno noted that Prince Otu has the interest of the people of the state at heart and has been working tirelessly to improve the lives of the people across communities in the state.
” Prince Bassey Otu is a man who has the love of the state at heart. He is a real grassrooter. He is a man who has the capacity and quality of leadership that the state needs. We as citizens of Cross River State, know that we have a duty towards our state. We feel that the programmes of Prince Otu, the policies, his dreams and vision for the state needs sustainance. Four years is not enough to consolidate on these prograames. Therefore there is the need for us to galvanise support towards his renewed mandate,” Mr. Uno said.
He also noted that in the last two years, Prince Otu has turned around the fortunes of the state.
” The responsibility is upon us as Cross Riverians to make sure that the governor come 2027 is given another tenure to consolidate upon the good works that he has so far done. It is on that basis that we came up with this initiative. The Sweetness Renewal Network,” he said.
He promised that the group has the potential to curb voter apathy and generate one million votes for Prince Otu in 2027.
The National President emphasised that the Prince Otu Community Development Initiative would serve as a vehicle for grassroot campaign ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The Special Guest at the occasion and Chairman of Ogoja Local Government Area of Cross River State, Mr. Chris Agbeh commended the initiative and pledged his unwavering support for the success of the group.
He advised members of the group to be committed and work hard to achieve their mission.
He stressed the need for everyone to be carried along in the movement.
” If you want to achieve results, everyone should be carried along. Everyone should be active,” Mr. Agbeh said.
He added that he will be available for support and guidance towards the success of Prince Otu Community Development Initiative and the re-election of Prince Bassey Otu.
The group also inaugurated its national leadership.
They include: National President, Mr. Kanu Joseph Uno, National Coordinator, Mr. Frank Ogar, National Treasurer, Mrs Toty Austin, National Secretary, Dr. Emmanuel Ulayi, National Welfare Officer, Mr. Bassey Ogene Saviour, National Financial Secretary, Mrs Grace I. Abraham, National Organising Secretary, Mr. Raymond Uno amongst others.
The slogan of the group is ” Cross River State: Sweet Prince, Sweet Prince, Sweetness Assured’
