Senator Umaru Al-Makura representing Nasarawa south senatorial district has called on stakeholders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa south senatorial district to unite and ensure that they deliver governor Abdullahi Sule at Saturday’s poll.
Al-Makura stated this during a meeting in Lafia, the state capital.
He said the APC as a ruling party cannot afford to lose the state to the opposition therefore, “We must unite and become a formidable force if we want to win this election.”
Meanwhile, Governor Abdullahi Sule appreciated senator Umaru Al-Makura for organizing the meeting.
Sule who expressed happiness with the postponement of the election by one week said this had given them a good opportunity to have such a meeting.
“I do not doubt in my mind that this meeting is going to result in an improvement in the number of votes we are going to have, I thank you.
“We may not have won Nasarawa State for the APC with the required votes but Nasarawa tried because of the wind that came without us knowing where the wind was coming from, nobody expected it among us,” he said.
Sule said there was an opinion poll ahead of the presidential election indicating that the Labour Party would get 34 percent of votes in the state, APC 32 percent, PDP 3, and one percent to the other political party.
“I didn’t believe it but when I brought it to my colleagues everybody laugh and said it’s a joke,” he added.
