According to the Minister, Nigeria’s delegation stood out not only as participants but as a “decisive and credible voice” in advancing global commitments on gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.

She highlighted Nigeria’s engagements, including the presentation of the country statement, contributions to the African Group’s Voluntary Country Statement alongside Egypt and Namibia, and participation in bilateral and multilateral dialogues.

“Our collective engagement positioned Nigeria’s voice as consistently clear, strategic, and impactful,” she said.

The Minister emphasised the importance of unity among delegates, noting their strong presence throughout the sessions.

“By consistently showing up, standing together, and reinforcing our positions in every session, you projected unity, strength, and national coherence,” she said.

She acknowledged the support of the Presidency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and development partners in enhancing Nigeria’s effectiveness at the global forum.

Sulaiman-Ibrahim commended the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Nko Esuabana, ministry officials, and the Permanent Mission of Nigeria to the United Nations for their coordination and professionalism.

She specifically commended Minister/Head of the Third Committee, Bola Asaju, for “strategic engagement and contributions in advancing Nigeria’s positions across key platforms,” alongside Chargé d’Affaires Ambassador Syndoph Endoni and Head of Chancery Mr. Rasaq Lawal for ensuring seamless participation.

The Minister also referenced the Second Edition of Nigeria Women’s Day held on the margins of CSW70, noting that it amplified Nigeria’s voice and strengthened partnerships, with the presence of Amina J. Mohammed further elevating the event.

“To sustain this momentum, a Post-CSW70 Debriefing Meeting will be convened shortly,” she said.

She urged stakeholders to translate commitments into measurable progress, stressing the need to deliver lasting impact for women and girls across Nigeria.
