The United Pastors Initiative for Good Governance (UPIG) has tasked governors and lawmakers at federal and state levels of the federation with maintaining peace and unity as Nigeria prepares for  the gubernatorial and State House of Assembly elections.

The president of UPIG, Reverend James Zira Muya, made the appeal during a courtesy visit and award presentation to the Governor of Katsina state Aminu Masari as “Ambassador of Good Governance”.

“We also solicit your kind support by prevailing on your brother governors to have an understanding on the importance of unity and peace.

“We do this because of our firm belief in you as a technocrat and a distinguished law maker with a very good grasp of the importance of unity and peace as a contributor to national development,” he said.

He said the visit was to show the governor and the world its continued quest for good governance in Nigeria as well as to commend those who are practising good governance in Nigeria.
