The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC in Rivers State has adjourned collation of gubernatorial election results until Monday.
The Commission has so far announced the results from 17 out of 23 Local Government Areas of the State.
Voice of Nigeria reports that the Party agent of Labour Party, the Labour Party agent, Frederick Nwojie had rejected the results being collated and called for the suspension of the collation.
However, in a swift response, the State Returning Officer, Professor Akpofure Rim-Rukeh, Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Efurun said the call to stop collation cannot be granted.
Prof. Rim-Rukeh urged the agents to document their complaints and submit to him as collation cannot be stepped down.
