Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is presiding over the virtual meeting of the National Council, which began at 11.00am Nigerian time on Thursday morning.
Governors of Nigeria’s 36 states are participating in the meeting from their offices in the state capitals.
Issues that may feature on the agenda of the meeting include security and the Covid-19 pandemic.
When the Council met on the April 22, the Minister of Transportation presented a report on the 25-year strategic plan for developments on Nigeria railways, while the Minister of Aviation reported on developments in the sector.

Also at the last meeting, the governors affirmed their commitment to Nigeria’s unity, declaring that staying as one country remains the best option for the country.
