I will revamp Electricity Sector – Minister

Nigeria’s Minister of Power, Adelabu Adebayo has vowed to revamp the Power Sector leveraging on the Nigerian Electricity Act of 2023, which opened new avenues for power provision and encourages collaboration between public and private sectors.

The Minister disclosed this when he assumed office in Abuja the nation’s capital while pledging his commitment to ensure improvement in the sector.

Adebayo expressed his heartfelt gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for giving him the opportunity to serve the country.

He promised that Nigeria would soon experience a 24/7 Electricity Supply across the country.

The Minister enjoined the Staff of the Ministry to work as a team, stressing that solving a problem needs commitment and discipline.

He further said that the power sector is key and critical to turning around the economy in line with the President’s electoral promises.

“Attention will also be given to renewable and alternative energy sources to fastrack access in rural areas.”

The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Power, Mr. Temitope Fashedemi while welcoming the Minister assured him of the support and cooperation of the Management and Staff of the Ministry.

He stated that the Staff of the Ministry of Power and its Agencies are ready to work with the Minister to ensure that he succeeds in executing the President’s mandate for the electricity sector.
