ICT Training: CITAD Selects Fifteen Teachers in Bauchi State

The Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) has selected fifteen teachers for a four-day training on Information Communication and Technology (ICT) in Bauchi state, North-East Nigeria.

During the commencement of the training, Mallam Isa Garba, a Senior Programme Officer at CITAD, stated that the training aims to equip teachers with skills to enhance productivity and quality delivery.

He also mentioned that this initiative would improve instruction in Bauchi State public schools and strengthen the teachers’ economic standing.

According to Garba, addressing the nation’s social challenges, such as terrorism and banditry, can be effectively achieved through education by shaping learners’ characters and imparting the right knowledge, thus helping children become valuable to themselves and the country.

He emphasized that improving the education standard is a collective responsibility, hence the need to integrate ICT from Basic Education to enhance teaching quality.

Bauchi State CITAD Programme Officer Mr. Mujahid Ibrahim highlighted that CITAD had previously introduced ICT training for selected youth and saw the importance of extending the training to teachers for future sustainability.

Bauchi Local Government Education Secretary, Nuru Abdullahi, praised the partnership’s continuity and commended CITAD’s dedication and professionalism in providing ICT knowledge, particularly to teachers of SUBEB in the state.

Participants expressed their gratitude to the organizers and assured their commitment to disseminating the acquired knowledge to achieve the training’s objectives.
