Iheanacho’s goal ‘brilliant’ :Leicester City boss
Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has described as “brilliant” Kelechi Iheanacho’s first Premier League goal this season, while also disclosing that Wilfred Ndidi is set to make the squad for Sunday’s clash against Wolves.
Iheanacho headed ‘The Foxes’ in front at Fulham Wednesday night, before Leicester City doubled their lead in the second half to run away from London 2-0 winners.
“I thought that the two goals were real goals of quality,” “We knew this was going to be a real test for us coming to here.
“We knew we had to play well, and I thought in the first half, we scored two brilliant goals – different types of goals.”
Former Leicester City striker Tony Cottee also singled out Iheanacho for special praise.
“He scored that first goal and he had a fantastic turn for the second. That’s the Kelechi Iheanacho I want to see. He provided Leicester with a focal point tonight (Wednesday),” he remarked.
In the meantime, the Leicester City manager said he expects Ndidi and striker Jamie Vardy back in action on Sunday after they were sidelined by injury.
“They should be available for the weekend, so it’s great news for us,” he said. “They’ve responded really well.
“We’ll see how they are over the next couple of days and they’ll hopefully be back in the squad and available for the weekend.”
