Indonesia Grants Local Content Certificates for Apple Products
Indonesia has granted local content certificates for 20 Apple products, including the iPhone 16 series, after Apple fulfilled the country’s requirements for locally sourced components.
This development follows Apple’s pledge to invest over $300 million in Indonesia, which includes the construction of component manufacturing plants and a research and development centre.
Despite securing these certificates, Apple must still obtain additional permits from Indonesia’s communications and digital ministry, as well as the trade ministry, before it can begin selling the iPhone 16 and other products in the country.

Notably, Apple was not among the top five smartphone brands in Indonesia in the third quarter of the previous year.
