The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC says it is working harder in ensuring that the commission conducts elections that will stand the test of time before the world.

The INEC chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu disclosed this in a post-election review meeting with the election results collation and returning officers for the 2023 general election.

Professor Yakubu remarked that the success of every election required collective efforts. The INEC chairman expressed concerns that issues have arisen and some Nigerians have raised concerns about the result management by the commission.

“We should discuss broadly and share experience on the way forward on the election result management,” he said.

Professor Yakubu said that the commission would at the end of the meeting identify areas of strength and weakness and reform to introduce going forward.

“We will like to hear from your perspectives on the process and procedures for recruitment, training, posting, logistics and the roles of technology in the results management,” he stressed.

The INEC Chairman,  however, commended the contributions and sacrifices made by the electoral officers that resulted in the successful conduct of the 2023 General Election in the country.
