Super Falcons of Nigeria suffered a narrow 1–0 defeat to the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon in their International Friendly match, at the Military Stadium in Yaoundé on Saturday.
Reigning African champions, Nigeria, controlled much of the possession and tempo as they put the Cameroonian defence under sustained pressure. However, they were unable to make their dominance count.

Despite the creative spark provided by Rasheedat Ajibade and Jennifer Echegini, the Super Falcons were unable to find a breakthrough.
Nigeria made a number of changes after the break as they looked to break down Cameroon’s resilient defence.
As the match drifted toward a stalemate in the dying seconds, Cameroon launched a final counter-attack. Mbomezomo Yvana then capitalised on a momentary lapse in the Nigerian defence to slot home the winner for Cameroon.

The Super Falcons will not have long to wait for a chance at redemption. Both teams will return to the same venue on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, for the second leg of the friendly double-header.
The matches will serve preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), for both nations.
