Islamic Cleric Urges Muslims to give alms

The Chief Imam of Uthman Bin Affan Mosque, Wuse, Abuja, Nigeria urged  Muslims to use the last ten days of the holy month of Ramadan to pray for Peace and Unity for the Country.

Sheikh Huseyn Zakaria says Nigeria deserves Peace and Unity which can be achieved by prayer and fearing Allah in all our activities.

All praise be to Allah for witnessing another month of Ramadan and we are happy since from the beginning of the month and we have being fasting and praying to seek Allah’s forgiveness and his mercy.

Sheikh Zakaria encouraged  Muslims to use the last ten days of Ramadan which are very significant, to search the “night of power” .

 

“The Prophet Muhammad ,peace be upon him ,redoubled his effort to in the last ten days of Ramadan, in prayer and other good deeds so also we should emulate from him and give more charity, feed the less privileged and seek Allah’s forgiveness.

 

Sheikh Zakaria also urged the Muslims to give out the Zakat al-fitrah to eradicate hunger among the Muslims on Eid al-fitrah celebration Day.

 

“Zakat al-fitrah is an obligatory form of almsgiving required of every able Muslims at the end of Ramadan for the less privileged.”

 

The purpose of the Zakat al-fitrah is to enable poor people to celebrate Eid al-fitrah in joy and avoid staying with hunger on the day.” the Sheikh added.

 

“The amount of zakat al-fitrah is the same for every Muslims regardless of age and income, the amount is one sa’i that is four double handfuls of grains.”

 

“This form of charity becomes mandatory to able Muslims and is supposed to be give out on the last day of fasting”

 

The Chief Imam also called on the Muslims around the world to be very careful especially the youths while celebrating the festival.

 

“Most of the people lost their rewards earned during the Month of Ramadan just by violating the teachings of Islam on how to celebrate Eid al-fitrah festival by engaging themselves in sinful act in the name of celebration.”

 

“Nobody has the license to involve himself/herself in alcohol consumption in and adulteration or taking drugs and other substances.”

 

I wish all the Muslims around the world a happy Eid al-fitrah celebration in advance and may Allah continue to guide us and unite us,The Sheikh added.
