Just like many Nigerians pay tributes to Nigeria’s former President, Muhammadu Buhari, many Kaduna state residents have also expressed shock over his death and prayed for the repose of his soul.
It is no wonder that Kaduna residents have expressed sorrow due to the former President’s demise because Kaduna has always been his home base where he lived with his family for many years.
The news about the death of the former military ruler and a two-term democratic President left many in a state of sober reflection.
Some residents in their separate remarks pleaded with the federal government to accord the late President full state honours befitting his towering contributions to the country.
Muhammad Gwani spoke extensively about his leadership style and legacies and the need for Nigerians to emulate him.
According to him, President Buhari’s death is a loss of a symbol that has created a huge vacuum in Northern Nigeria and the country at large.
Abdullahi Adubi said late Buhari served Nigeria with unwavering dedication, first as a military leader from January 1984 to August 1985, and later as a democratically elected President from 2015 to 2023 where he contributed immensely to Nigeria’s growth.
Adubi explained that duty, dedication, deep commitment, unity and progress of Nigeria and Nigerians defined his life.
Many other residents described late President Buhari as a leader who in retirement remained a moral compass to many and an example of modesty in public life.
