The new Commandant of Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Centre (MLAILPKC) in Jaji, Kaduna State, Major General Emmanuel Undiandeye has solicited the support of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Kaduna State Council on its activities.
He made this known when he took over from the outgone Commandant, Major General Auwal Fagge, during the handing-over ceremony in Jaji.
In the same vein, the outgone Commandant, Major General Auwal Fagge, who was appreciative of the support of the Union requested that such support be extended to the newly decorated Commandant, Major General EAP Undiandeye.
“I assure you that the new commandant will accord you all the necessary assistance you need, just as I did, feel free to let us know where we have erred. I have been here for a year and four months. I thank the COAS for giving me the opportunity to serve in this environment where I have met different types of people.”
The new Commandant, Major General Undiandeye reiterated his commitment towards ensuring that the mission of the centre is strictly adhered to.
“I want to request that the cooperation, dedication and support you gave to my colleague be given to me for the success of the centre.”
“I want to also add that this is a very security challenged period, combined with the upcoming general elections. I know that the headquarters has sent out code of conduct in respect to the conduct of the upcoming general elections, I want you all to familiarize yourselves with the content of that document. Do not perform a duty that you are not assigned to, stick to the duties and orders you have been instructed with.”
“I don’t want to hear any incidence involving this centre either by an individual or a group of individuals, we are strictly a training institution, and we should conduct ourselves within that order.“
The new Commandant who promised to uphold all welfare and plans that have been in existence at the centre said: “I will also try to request the headquarters to give available resources to help us enhance the working environment and individual welfare, I will be a leader that has a listening ear and also be strict in ensuring that we do what is expected of us.”
The outgone Commandant expressed confidence in the capacity of the new Commandant, whom he described as a great general with the ability to maintain and improve on the mission of the centre.
