Kano Agog as President Pays Last Respect to Dantata

The family of the late Aminu Alhassan Dantata, the government and people of Kano state, were in high spirit as they received President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who came to Kano Friday afternoon to pay his condolence on the demise of business tycoon and foremost philanthropist, the late Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata.
Our Correspondent reports that residents of the ancient commercial city discussed President Tinubu’s condolence visit in hushed tones, expressing their satisfaction for the love and care the President showed for the people of Kano.
A resident, Alhaji Ibrahim Adamu, told our Correspondent that President Tinubu’s condolence visit meant a lot for Kano and its people.

“His desire and intention to pay a special condolence visit to our dear state in respect to the demise of the late Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata means a lot to us.
“It is a testament that President Tinubu holds the interest of Kano and its people very dear to his heart. The way our people are peacefully conducting themselves over the presidential visit is a show that Kano and its people appreciate President Tinubu’s kind gesture, show of love and compassion.”
Our Correspondent reports that residents of Kano, in their thousands, trooped out and gathered themselves at strategic positions,to wave welcome hands to President Tinubu.
Security operatives were all on alert as various security agents were seen positioned at different locations to ensure peaceful visit of President Tinubu.
There were beehive of activities at Koki Quarters, within Kano metropolis, where the residence of the late Dantata is located, even as security agencies expressed readiness to ensure smooth movements and gathering of people as the President visited.
Security was also beefed up at Kano Government House, where President Tinubu is expected to condole with Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, after visiting Dantata’s house at Koki Quarters.
Governor Yusuf through a Statement by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, had earlier expressed joy over President Tinubu’s condolence visit.
Governor Yusuf described the visit as a show of national unity and respect for the people of Kano and the legacy of the late Aminu Alhassan Dantata.
He called on residents to welcome the President in line with the state’s tradition of hospitality, dignity and respect for leaders.
This is a moment of solemn reflection and national respect. I urge all Kano residents to receive the President warmly and in an orderly manner, as he joins us in mourning one of our greatest elderstateman,” Governor Yusuf said.
