The Kano State House of Assembly was thrown into mourning on Wednesday, following the deaths of two serving lawmakers, who reportedly passed away within hours of each other.
One of the deceased, Hon. Aminu Sa’adu, representing Ungogo Constituency, was said to have taken ill shortly after arriving at the Assembly complex.
He was immediately rushed to a hospital, where he was later confirmed dead.
Tragedy struck again as Hon. Sarki Aliyu Daneji, the lawmaker representing Kano Municipal council Area, was also reported to have passed away.
The near-simultaneous deaths of the two legislators have sent shockwaves across the state, leaving fellow lawmakers, political leaders, and residents in deep grief.
The death of Sarki Aliyu Daneji was officially confirmed by the spokesperson to the Kano State Governor, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, who announced the development via his verified Facebook page.
