Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has lauded the Nigerian Army and other security agencies for their prompt and coordinated response to recent banditry attacks in parts of the state.
The Governor emphasised that their commitment reflects the broader national effort to safeguard lives and property across the country.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature, the governor expressed his appreciation during a courtesy visit by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division, Nigerian Army, Kaduna, Major General Abubakar Sadiq Muhammad Wase, at the Government House, Kano.

General Wase, who was in Kano to assess the security situation in Shanono and Tsanyawa Local Government Areas, also shared fond memories of his late father, Colonel Muhammad Abdullahi Wase, who served as the Military Sole Administrator of Kano in 1994.
Governor Yusuf thanked the military for their ongoing sacrifices and commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing capable service chiefs who have renewed Nigeria’s collective fight against insecurity.
To boost security operations in the affected areas, Governor Yusuf announced the donation of 10 Hilux vehicles and 60 motorcycles to the Joint Task Force, reaffirming his administration’s readiness to collaborate with federal security institutions in tackling banditry, kidnapping, and cattle rustling across the region.
The gesture, he noted, aligns with national efforts to strengthen inter-agency cooperation and restore lasting peace and stability to communities affected by violent crimes.
