The Kano State Government has reiterated commitement to partner with European Union (EU) to strengthen it’s education sector.
The partnership also, aimed at improving renewable energy and other areas of human development for the growth of the Northern commercial city.
The Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf made this known when he played host the EU Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS Mr. Gautier Mignot who called on him at the Government House.
The governor expressed gratitude for choosing Kano State as the location for the first Study in Europe Fair in Africa, as the gesture demonstrates EU’s confidence in Kano’s potential and commitment to its development.
He harps on the need to continue to work together to strengthen educational development drive and the need to provide formidable power for industries and general economic well-being of the state.
Governor Yusuf used the opportunity to dwelt extensively on the feats achieved by the present administration in the state under his stewardship in the last two years in various facets of development.
He also solicited the support of the European Union in the implementation of actualisation of the state development blueprint.
Earlier Speaking, the EU Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Mr. Gautier Mignot said he visited the governor to explore ways of collaboration in the areas of education, digital economy and other areas of keen interests.
He explained that, part of his team’s engagements in Kano will include visit to past and on-going projects on digital economy executed by EU and discussions with relevant stakeholders aimed at moulding young people for prosperous future.
