Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state has approved the appointment of Barrister Mahmoud Balarabe as the acting Executive Chairman of Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission.
Barrister Balarabe until his appointment was the Director for Public Prosecution with the state Ministry of Justice.
According to a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Abba Anwar, the appointment is with immediate effect.
Governor Ganduje directed the acting Executive Chairman to discharge his duties diligently, according to the laid down procedures establishing the Commission.
It could be recalled that the Chairman of the Kano state anti- graft Agency, Barrister Muhuyi Timing Gado was suspended for one month earlier in the week, by the Kano state House of Assembly on the ground of not honouring an accounting officer deployment to the commission by the Accountant General of the state.
A house committee was mandated to investigate the matter and report back in two weeks.
