Kano state police Arrests wanted Drug dealer Saddam, 8 others

The Police in Kano State Northwest Nigeria has arrested notorious wanted drug dealer Saddam Mu’azu popularly known as “Badoo” in Kano Metropolis.

The police public relations officer ASP Abdullahi Kiyawa in a press statement said, the command having received reports of public outcry by Tukuntawa Quarters Kano and adjoining communities on his activities of receiving supply of illicit drugs and cannabis especially from Eastern parts of the country, launch operations against him.

This Kiyawa said has led to the arrest of Saddam and eight other members of his network.

Exhibit recovered include Eleven parcels of dried leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp, a cutlass, five motorcycles that are being used or sales and distribution facilities and the sum of one hundred and eleven thousand, and five hundred naira in different denominations suspected to be proceeds of crime.

He said, “all the suspects made confessions on their dealings in buying and selling of the drugs and including Indian Hemp.”

 

Similarly, on 27th April 2024, personnel of the Nigeria Correctional Service attached to Kurmawa Correctional Centre arrested one Hamisu Mamuda, of Samegu Quarters, Kumbotso LGA, Kano State in possession of twelve Nylon bags of Dried Leaves Suspected to be Indian Hemp wrapped in his jacket in an attempt to smuggle it into Kurmawa Correctional Centre with intent to sell it to inmates.

The suspect also confessed to the crime and is currently cooling his feet at the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for discreet investigation.

The spokesperson noted that, at the completion of investigation all the suspects will be charged to court.
