Katsina State: Forum decries drug abuse among youths, women
A group of concerned citizens, Katsina Consultative Forum, has expressed concern over the high rate of drug abuse among youths and women in Kastina State.

The Chairman of the forum, Alhaji Aminu Abubakar-Danmusa, expressed dismay during a news conference held in the Katsina.
He revealed that as part of measures to address the issue, the forum has scheduled a dialogue with stakeholders for December 31 with the theme, “Tackling the Menace of Drug Abuse Among Youths in Katsina State.”
He explained that, the aim is to find a lasting solution to the menace and preserve the young generation.
Abubakar-Danmusa said, “The choice of the theme is not arbitrary but a reflection of unwavering commitment to safeguard the future of the state.
“Today marks the commencement of the annual Katsina Dialogue, an initiative of the collective dedication of our forum of passionate individuals committed to the development of our state.
“The Katsina Dialogue represents a crucial platform through which we seek to address and find solutions to the pressing issues that affect our state.

“It is a beacon of hope, ushering in a new era of collaboration, dialogue and concerted action for the betterment of our society.”
He further expressed concern that drug abuse had infiltrated communities, threatening the health, well-being and potential of young people in the state.
“We must come together, as a united force, to confront this menace and pave the way for a brighter and more promising future for the youth of Katsina State.
“We believe that the diverse voices and perspectives of stakeholders are integral to crafting holistic and impactful solutions that resonate with the entire fabric of our society,” he added.
Abubakar-Danmusa said is not a mere conference, but a call to action and unity to a shared responsibility and to confront the challenge headlong.
He, therefore, called for support to and harped on the need to embrace dialogue, whether physically or virtually on various platforms.
