Kebbi: Encourage Muslim Girls to wear Hijab – Governor’s Wife urges Parents

The wife to the Governor of Kebbi State in North Western Nigeria, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, has emphasized the importance of hijab-wearing among young girls, citing its role in protecting their honor, dignity, and integrity.
Speaking on the occasion of World Hijab Day, Hajiya Zainab encouraged parents and guardians to promote hijab-wearing as a vital aspect of their daughters’ upbringing
According to Hajiya Zainab, the hijab serves as a shield against immorality and rape, due to the sanctity associated with it.
She appealed to husbands to support their wives in wearing the hijab during outings.
The Governor’s wife also cautioned young boys and girls against drug abuse, intoxicants, and other immoral activities, highlighting their detrimental effects.
The Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Doctor Halima Muhammad Bande, echoed Hajiya Zainab’s sentiments, stressing the hijab’s significance in safeguarding the dignity of womanhood.
She urged women, girls, and students to adopt hijab-wearing as a means of protecting themselves and promoting moral values
The event, organized by the Joint Muslim Women’s Organizations in collaboration with the First Lady’s office, aimed to promote religious tolerance, understanding, and education about the significance of hijab-wearing.
Hajiya Balkisu Zaki, Amirah of the Federation of Muslim Women Associations of Nigeria (FOMWAN), encouraged women from all backgrounds to experience hijab-wearing for a day to foster greater understanding and appreciation.
The World Hijab Day celebration in Kebbi State served as a platform to raise awareness about the importance of hijab-wearing and its role in promoting moral values, dignity, and self-respect among women and girls.
