The six officers of the Kwara State Police Command that were beneficiaries of the most recent promotion released by the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba have been decorated by the state Commissioner of Police, Paul Odama with their new ranks.
Three Chief Superintendents of Police (CSP) were promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), and three (3) Superintendents of Police (SP) were equally promoted to the ranks of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP).
The officers affected by the promotion are Csps Fatai Odunewu, Franklin, and Babarinsa, who were promoted to ACP, and SPs Mustapha Olayemi, Umar Jerry, and Abiola Mustapha who were promoted to the ranks of CSP.
While appreciating the Inspector General of Police and the chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC) for the promotion, the Police boss reiterated the need for the promoted officers to give their best in reciprocating the IGP’s confidence in them.
According to him, the reward for hard work is more work adding that officers desirous of benefiting from promotion to continue to do their best to serve God through humanity at all times, stating that promotion comes from God.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Steve Yabanet of the State CID, Dcp Adekimi Ojo of the Operations Department, DCP Nurudeen Abdulraheem and the Deputy Commissioner of Police Administration assisted the police boss in the decoration exercise in the presence of the wives and relatives of the newly promoted officers.
Odama jokingly stated at the end of the event which took place at the state Police Conference hall in Ilorin. that the promoted officers have received their Easter and Ramadan gifts from the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, and as such must reciprocate the admirable gesture with more work and set a good example for the junior officers.
