Kwara FADAMA Project has presented productive assets to farmers across the 16 Local Government Areas in the State.
The programme is meant towards improving agriculture produce and bettering the economic status of farmers in the State.
The productive assets acquired by the Kwara State FADAMA World Bank-assisted Project were presented to farmers as part of the State government’s resolve to revolutionize agriculture and encourage women and youths in agricultural production.

The productive items delivered include Cassava (Garri) Sieve Machines, Rice Threshers, Maize Sheller, Cassava (Garri) Grater, Palm Kernel Cracker, Palm Kernel Striper, Rice Milling Machines, Manual Parboiling Machines, Cassava (Garri) Frying Pan, Palm Oil Extractor and others
Delivering the assets to the beneficiaries, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Hajia Mariam Nurudeen Mohammed, charged the farmers to make use of the assets judiciously as intended by the benefactor.
She however warned them against re-sale of the assets, noting that such will not bring out the desired goal targeted by the Kwara State Government.
The Coordinator, FADAMA NG-CARES Office, Dr. Busari Toyin Isiaka, described the gesture by the State Government as part of the democratic dividends promised by this administration.
He commended the State Government for distributing the items which are to better the lives of the beneficiaries, highlighting the various schemes the Government has embarked upon for the benefit of the farmers in the State.
Dr. Busari assured farmers in the State of sumptuous agricultural opportunities lined up for improvement and regeneration of agriculture production.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries after receiving the agricultural tools, Alhaja Simiatu Asunmon thanked the Government for giving impetus to the farmers in the State and promised to use the assets in accordance with the purpose for which they were provided.
