The Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has charged the newly sworn-in members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to be patriotic and exemplary citizens in line with the nationalistic goals of the scheme.
Governor AbdulRazaq gave the charge during the swearing-in ceremony of the 2025 Batch ‘B’, Stream I corps members at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Yikpata, Edu Local Government Area.
Represented by the Commissioner for Youth Development, Ambassador Ndanusa Usman Shehu, the Governor urged the corps members to participate fully in camp activities including physical drills, paramilitary training, and leadership sessions.
He encouraged them to approach the orientation with seriousness, assuring that the state government would provide a conducive environment throughout their service year.
“I want you to justify the confidence reposed in you as leaders of this great nation by making patriotism, discipline, honesty, and hard work your watchwords,” says Governor AbdulRazaq.
The Chief Judge of Kwara State, Justice Abiodun Adebara—represented by Justice Tahiru Salihu Umar—administered the NYSC Oath of Allegiance to the corps members.
The Chairman of the Kwara NYSC Governing Board, represented by Mrs. Okanla Kuburat Atinuke, commended the Governor for his continuous support and urged the corps members to contribute meaningfully to their host communities.
“Serve diligently and selflessly, and always remember that your service can transform lives,” she said
NYSC State Coordinator, Mr. Onifade Olaoluwa Joshua, appreciated the Governor’s backing and praised the enthusiasm of the new corps members. He outlined several educational and entertainment programmes scheduled during the orientation.
He confirmed that 1,600 corps members—700 males and 900 females—were officially sworn in at the camp.
