The National League of Veteran Journalists (NALVEJ) in Kwara State has commended the state government for ensuring full implementation of the state’s health insurance scheme .

The state chairman of the league, Alhaji Tunde Akanbi gave the commendation when the Executive Secretary of the Kwara State Health Insurance Agency , Dr. Olubunmi Jetawo-Winter paid a sensitisation visit to members of the league during their monthly meeting in Ilorin, the state capital, North Central Nigeria.
Akanbi noted that the the agency has impacted positively on the lives of most citizens of the state inrespective of their status ” as it’s programmes has promoted inclusive health care coverage for all through pre- payment, risk pooling, and subsidies for the poor.”
He, however, urged the management of the agency to ensure thorough monitoring of the healthcare delivery scheme particularly by the hospitals and health centres accredited to provide the facilities to ensure standard and prompt service delivery.
He appealed to the state government to subsidise the health insurance’s premium for veteran journalists and their families in the state.
In her remarks, the Executive Secretary of the agency, Dr. Jetawo-Winta who was represented by the Public Relations Officer, Mr Moyo Abolarin and the Accounts Officer, Mr Samuel Adewole, disclosed that the scheme’s key objective is to provide accessible, affordable and quality healthcare for all residents of the state.
She, therefore, enjoined residents of the state to key into the scheme describing it as one of the most reliable and beneficial investment the state government has invested on.
