The Kwara State Government has commended the World Bank and other development partners for their continued support in improving health outcomes and strengthening the state’s healthcare system.
The commendation was made during a two-day biannual review meeting held on Friday in Ilorin, the state capital.
Executive Secretary of the Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Prof. Nusirat Elelu, said the meeting was crucial for assessing progress, identifying challenges, and developing data-driven strategies for improvement.
The session brought together Primary Health Care (PHC) programme officers from all Local Government Areas in the state.
She acknowledged the World Bank’s critical role through the Immunisation Plus Malaria Progress and Accelerating Coverage and Transforming Services (IMPACT) project, saying, “The PHC review meeting facilitates knowledge sharing, evaluates vaccination coverage, and enhances coordination with partners to meet both national and global immunisation goals.”
Elelu emphasised that the initiative aligned with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s vision to prioritise health sector investment and PHC revitalisation.
