Kwara State Governor Meets Army Chief

The Kwara State Governor and Chairman, of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF), Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has received the Commander, 22 Armoured Brigade Ilorin, Brigade General Adebayo Abdulrahman Babalola at Government House, Ilorin.

 

During the visit, the Governor explored strategies for strengthening security in the state with the Army Chief.

 

He assured him that the government would not relent in providing all necessary support to them to ease security in the discharge of their duties in order to secure the lives and properties of the citizens.

 

While responding, the Army Chief, General Babalola posited that the army is in collaboration with other  Security agencies to stamp out insecurity in the state.

 

He reiterated that the operations of the army will be sustained to keep the state safer for peaceful and law-abiding residents.

 

Meanwhile, in its determination to make Kwara State a no-go-area for various criminal elements in and around the State by a combined military effort has commenced massive operations.

 

This joint effort is being led by the army in collaboration with the Kwara State government.

 

The efforts of the military operations is to snuff out the life of every criminal element in the State.

 

Presently, the team has increased its operational drive in Kaiama and its environs including communities like Owo-Tegina and Pategi in Pategi local government, Guai-Ilesha Baruba and Sarabe-Gberia in Baruten local government.

 

The operations will equally be extended to other parts of the State aggressively in order to curb the recent incessant kidnapping and robbery activities.

 

It would be recalled that recent activities of kidnappers and robbery cases in the State have created lots of uneasiness among the residents.

 

The State government on her part, is not resting on its oars.

 

Just recently, the entire sixteen local governments were given two patrol vehicles with motorcycles, among other security equipment to aid the fight against criminal elements invading the State, particularly from neighbouring States.
