The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared Senator Victor Umeh of Labour Party winner of the Anambra Central Senatorial district election conducted on Saturday.
Announcing the result in INEC office for Anambra Central Senatorial district election at Amawbia, the returning officer, Professor Chuka Enuka said Senator Umeh polled 103,608 votes to defeat other candidates.
Professor Enuka said Dozie Nwankwo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) polled 69,702 votes to come second, while Senator Uche Ekwunife of the People’s Democratic Party came third with 49,532 votes.
He declared Senator Umeh winner of the contest because he scored the highest number of votes cast in the election and fulfilled all the requirements of the law.
The result sheet was signed by agents of all the political parties that participated in the election.
