Lawmaker empowers Youths, Women in Kaduna State

A member representing Kachia/Kagarko Federal Constituency, Gabriel Saleh Ha’ar has empowered no fewer than 1,000 youths and women in Kaduna State with over N30 million.

The lawmaker said it became imperative to alleviate poverty in his constituency in view of the hardship occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic in the last two years.

While presenting the cash gifts to the beneficiaries in Kachia Local government, the member urged them to judiciously invest the resources given to them into the nation’s economy for growth and development.

“I can assure all the beneficiaries that with judicious use of this money, it will in no small measure boost the economy of the nation and encourage economic stability.”  

He disclosed that the empowerment programme was the fourth of its kind, which, according to him started in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 respectively.

Speaking further, Ha’ar noted that with judicious use of the funds, he will be encouraged to do more by empowering the youths and women in his constituency.

Another Lawmaker representing Kagarko, Kaduna State House of Assembly, Nuhu Goroh Shadalafia applauded the federal lawmaker for the gesture, saying that the empowerment programme was coming at the right time when people are in need of it.

Shadalafia who was the former Deputy Speaker urged the beneficiaries to always support the lawmaker, himself and the Kaduna state government.

One of the beneficiaries, Halima Ibrahim thanked the lawmaker for the show of love to them, promising to properly make use of the funds.

The empowerment programme which is in collaboration with the Institute for peace and conflict resolution had traditional rulers, politicians and other stakeholders in attendance.
