Lawmaker promises positive development to Badagry residents

The lawmaker representing Badagry Constituency in the House of Representatives, Prince Sesi Whingah, has promised to bring positive development to his constituency during his tenure.

Whingah made the promise on Sunday during his Thanksgiving Service and Victory Party at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Ikoga-Zebbe, Badagry,

“I will promote policy that will revive the economy of Badagry and lobby for more projects and physical presence of Lagos State and Federal Government in the city.

“I will promote policy that will bring jobs to unemployed youths in Badagry.

“We know that the city has been neglected, but I will do everything to bring growth and development to the city,” he said.

Whingah said he decided to bring his constituents together to appreciate them and make them feel the presence of governance.

“The election that brought me recorded the highest votes in Badagry because of the love my constituents have for me.

“I can’t do otherwise than to come back after the inauguration of the 10th National Assembly to appreciate them for believing in me.

“I will bring dividends of democracy to Badagry and I want to assure them that under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, Badagry will be great, there will be massive growth and development,” he said.

In his message, Rev. Francis Ogunmola, the clergy-in-charge of the Church, urged the lawmaker to have a divine connection with God in order to succeed.

Ogunmola said this was the only way that would make him succeed in his new assignment.

He advised him not to fear while defending his constituents in his new assignment because it was God that gave him the new assignment.

The clergyman prayed that God would always be with him to succeed in his new assignment.

Dr Francis Dansu, a Lecturer at Lagos State University, Ojo, said the massive turnout of people at the occasion was to assure him that people would always be with him.

Dansu said the lawmaker also gave the assurance that he would not run away from them.

The victory party was held at Nigeria French Village School field in Ajara, where dignitaries including traditional rulers, Baales, two state lawmakers, APC chieftains and residents trooped out to grace the occasion.
