Lawyer urges Police to investigate Super TV CEO’s death

A Constitutional Lawyer and Human Rights Activist in Nigeria, Mike Ozekhome, SAN has requested the Nigerian Police to carry out a thorough investigation in order unravel the cause of the death of the Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of Super TV, Mr. Michael Ataga whose lifeless body was found in a serviced apartment on 19 Adewale Oshin street, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, on June 15, 2021.

In a letter to Nigeria’s Inspector of Police dated 25th August, 2021 sighted by Voice of Nigeria, the renowned Constitutional Lawyer who is also the Solicitor to the late Michael Otaga’s family asked the Police Boss to use his highly esteemed office to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr. Michael Ataga.

’’We are Solicitors to the family of late Mr. Michael Usifo Ataga who was murdered on the 15th day of June, 2021. We write this letter to you to request, not for any special favours, but that you use your good offices to ensure that this murder is thoroughly and professionally investigated, perpetrators prosecuted and justice immediately served’’ the letter reads in part.

According to Mr. Ozekhome, information contained in the letter  was supplied by his client’s family and, also, based on direct access to analysis of several media links that have since heavily publicized and widely circulated the death of the CEO of Super TV.

It would be recalled that the former Chief Executive Officer of Super TV, Michael Usifo Ataga, was recently found death in a service apartment in the Lekki area of Lagos in southwest Nigeria.
