The much awaited Lagos state local council elections has commenced with several logistics challenges including late arrival of electoral officials.
As at 10.00a.m Saturday morning, there were no visible signs of election officials in all of the polling units visited by our correspondent in Oshodi-Isolo local government area.
Security officials including members of the Nigeria Police Force were however present in and around most polling centres as early as 7:30 am.
The challenge with the late arrival of officials of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission our correspondent gathered may not be unconnected with the delayed release of the list of polling officials at the various local governments on Friday.
Some young voters expressed their disappointment at the late arrival of polling officials and materials, raising doubts about the credibility of the electoral process.
